Communication is one of the most important aspects of any project. It will fill up a lot of your time and failing to successfully communicate with your team and the stakeholders might lead to your project failure.

1. You write mail like an insensitive jerk

You just finish an email, even though there is a lot of work to do and the situation may be stressful, your explanation is clear and you manage to keep a light-hearted tone that is sure to lighten the mood of your team. Except you don’t. There is no tone, no inflexion in an email. If you use sarcasm, you may be taken literally. The problem that you will naturally highlight with the tone of your voice will not stand out on paper. The fix is easy, you just have to take the standpoint of a total stranger that reads your mail for the first time, highlighting the important part, writing nothing implicit. Or you could just talk to them directly, that brings us to our next point.
